SUNISO Refrigeration Oil SL32 4Litre
Did You Know?
Suniso GS made its debut in 1968, introduced by Sun Oil. This innovative reference represented a significant advancement for industry needs, establishing Suniso GS as a leading standard in the market. Over the years, Suniso GS has become synonymous with quality.
Brand History
Founded in 1933, the Suniso brand emerged from the renowned Marcus Hook refinery in Philadelphia, USA. In 1984, Witco (Crompton) acquired the Suniso brand, leading to further development and distribution rights held by Sun Oil Belgium NV the same year.
Currently, Sonneborn Inc. owns the Suniso brand. In 2008, Petronas Lubricants International purchased the family-run Sun Oil business in Belgium, transforming it into Petronas Lubricants Belgium NV. Under Petronas’s management, operations resumed at the revamped Hemiksem factory in Belgium.
Unique Needs of Modern Compressors
Modern air conditioning and refrigeration compressors vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. However, they all share a critical requirement: they need a specialized lubricant to ensure long-lasting, trouble-free operation. Suniso oils fulfill this unique demand, providing high stability and longevity in compressors designed to maximize output with minimal physical size.
Essential Features of Refrigeration Oils
Refrigeration oils must effectively lubricate moving parts while meeting specific criteria not required of standard lubricants. Unlike typical oils, refrigeration oils are expected to operate without issues. The primary function of compressor oil remains lubrication. Additionally, they must possess other essential properties:
- Compatibility with Refrigerants: They should mix seamlessly with the refrigerant used in the system.
- Transport in Low Quantities: They transfer in small amounts through refrigeration lines.
- Contact with Motor Components: They directly contact the motor winding in hermetic units.
- Resistance to Extreme Temperatures: They endure high temperatures at the compressor discharge valve and very low temperatures at the expansion valve.
Characteristics of Suniso Refrigeration Oils
Suniso oils possess features that ensure maximum service life without problems:
- Chemical Stability: They resist interactions with refrigerants or metallic parts in the system.
- Thermal Stability: They eliminate excessive carbon deposits at hot spots in the compressor, such as valves or discharge ports.
- Low Wax Content: They prevent wax flocculation from separating in low-temperature system areas.
- Low Pour Point: They avoid freezing of separated oil in refrigerant lines.
- High Dielectric Strength: They guarantee good insulation properties. In hermetic units, the oil-refrigerant mixture acts as insulation between the motor and compressor body.
- Optimal Viscosity: They ensure a robust film strength at high operating temperatures and excellent flow in the coldest operating conditions, even when diluted with refrigerant.
- No Contamination: They prevent bearing surface damage, blocked lines, or oil ports, and overall failure
